My name is Matthew Tabone, and I’m a Fitter/Machinist by trade and self taught Woodworker. MJT Wood Designs was the brainchild of my beautiful, and creative, wife Lee-Ann.
My main pieces are bespoke Chopping Boards, Charcuterie/Cheese Boards, Salt & Pepper Grinders, and small Furniture Items. I’m always experimenting with timbers, finishes and designs. Constantly studying new and contemporary woodworking techniques ensures I am always improving, always learning, and above all always giving my valued clients exactly what they are wanting.
I pride myself as a highly skilled woodworker renowned for exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. With my years of experience as a Fitter and Machinist, the transition from working with metals to wood has allowed me to transfer my skills into the design and construction of custom furniture and intricate wood designs that showcase the craft. I have a deep passion for the art of woodworking, blending traditional techniques with innovative design to create timeless pieces.

I offer my services to my local community, in the southern suburbs of S,ydney but have also sold pieces that have been sent around Australia. I’m most proud of that fact that the pieces I create are designed to last decades, and not a few months or years.
