Hello, my name is Matt Tabone.

I’m a Fitter/Machinist by trade and self taught Woodworker. MJT Wood Designs was the brainchild of my wife Lee-Ann during Covid. I was recovering from Knee Surgery, not working, so Lee-Ann suggested I start a business from home. I have always enjoyed working with my hands, and love woodworking, so MJT Wood Designs was born. Since starting in August of 2021, I have won numerous ribbons for my designs at The Sydney Royal Easter Show.

I mainly produce bespoke Chopping Boards, Charcuterie/Cheese Boards, Salt & Pepper Grinders, and small Furniture Items. I’m always experimenting with timbers, finishes and designs.

I offer my services to the local community but have also sold pieces that have been sent around Australia. I’m most proud of that fact that the pieces I create are designed to last decades, and not a few months or years. Matt
